Rehabilitation & Training Programmes
...based on practical employment expertise.
As a result of its depth of experience in career counselling, training and outplacement activities, YES has the ideal combination of skills to provide guidance and practical support to those who need rehabilitation or re-training.
Whatever the reason for an individual being out of the labour market for a lengthy period, there are matters of skills, self-confidence and direction to be addressed. It is widely acknowledged that anyone who ? as a result of redundancy, injury, illness or bad luck ? spends a long time out of work, is likely to be anxious and unsure about how to get back into work. Several YES Consultants have for many years been providing a range of services to overcome these difficulties, and their experience in guiding and re-training is an enormous source of comfort and reassurance.
In Personal Injury cases, there is often an added dimension, that the individual is unable to travel to undertake training. In such cases, we take it with us! All our career guidance programmes, Interest Inventories and skills-analysis tools are available on computer, and we can take the materials, the equipment and the training to the home of the Subject (or other approved suitable location).
Not everyone is a suitable candidate for rehabilitation or re-training. There is a major 'willingness' factor, and we also have to recognise that some people may not believe it is in their best financial interest to acquire new skills and get back to work before their case is settled. For that reason, YES always reserves the right to refuse an assignment or to insist upon a preliminary investigation. However, in most cases the desire to return to gainful employment is a strong driver and YES is keen to help the individual capitalise on his/her motivation. We are accustomed to dealing with a wide range of disabilities, although in some cases external support (such as from a Case Manager) may also be required. Every case is unique. Any YES Consultant involved in this sort of work gets a real 'buzz' from seeing it succeed. |
